A path to literacy success

READING ROUTE

Reading Route is a literacy intervention service that utilizes current evidence-based practice in the areas of literacy development and remediation for children aged 4 and up. Our team is comprised of speech and language professionals with specialized education in literacy and additional training in the research-based and scientifically valid Remediation Plus program. We provide home-based, individualized intervention that focuses on phonological awareness, reading, spelling, fluency and comprehension.

BUILDING LITERACY SKILLS EARLY ON

Did you know that your child is expected to master several literacy skills before they enter senior kindergarten? Letter-sound correspondence and phonological awareness skills are very important pre-cursors to becoming a successful reader.

Correlational studies have identified phonemic awareness (a subset of phonological awareness) and letter knowledge as the two best school-entry predictors of how well children will learn to read during their first 2 years of school.
